Julie & Julia
This story is about two separate people who are connected through cooking. One is interested in learning how to cook, the other is looking for something to do with their time. The movie is about Julia Child’s cooking and how she got started. This is great to watch because it shows how hard it was for a woman to take classes that were mainly composed of all men. She fought her way into the industry and eventually created something that many of her peers never achieved, fame for her famous book that made French cooking available to woman all over the world. The second part to the movie is a new York resident who decides to start a blog about cooking one recipe from Julia child’s French cookbook and blog about the experience. Her blog eventually got recognized and picked up and turned into this movie. The take away as an entrepreneur is this, you can work for a long time and no one may recognize you for it but if you stick with it, your time will come sooner or later.
